Srinagar: One militant has been killed so far in an encounter between militants and security forces in the Vileo area of Kokernag in district Anantnag in south Kashmir on Tuesday morning. The slain terrorist has not yet been identified. Leaving the garden, these terrorists are now hiding in a house in the area. The firing continues still. Security forces have surrounded the terrorists. In the midst of the firing, the army is repeatedly asking the militants to surrender but they are constantly firing on the security forces ignoring their appeal. The operation is in progress. These three terrorists hiding in the area are said to be related to Lashkar-e-Taiba.
According to the information received from the police, security forces got information about hiding of terrorists in Vileo area of Anantnag district in the early hours of today. As soon as the information was received SOG, 19 RR of Army and 19 battalion of CRPF reached the area and started the siege. Meanwhile, the terrorists saw the security forces coming close to them and started firing on them. These terrorists were staying in a garden. The security forces first asked the terrorists to surrender but when they did not agree, they also started retaliating.
