Bhopal. A kite festival was organized on the occasion of Makar Sankranti at Shalimar Fortleza Campus, Hoshangabad Road. In the event held from 2 pm to 4 pm, the campus was decorated with colorful kites. The participants at the festival also enjoyed delicious gajak, sesame jaggery laddoos and other sweets. Shalimar Fortleza Residents Society in a press release said that to celebrate the kite festival amidst Covid, they followed all the protocols. Also, do not let everyone participate in the program without hand sanitizing the
thermal scan at the entry gate.

During the kite festival, all the participants enjoyed flying a variety of kites. Participant Mr. Atul Khera – Retired IFS told that, ‘flying kites is my childhood hobby’. It is very fun to fly and when you get the company of good people, the enjoyment becomes two fold.

Other participant Dr. S.S. Bhandari- Additional Commissioner, Tribal welfare department told that in the Covid period, it is a different experience to fly kites among limited people only in such event. He said, ‘I hope that we can get rid of this corona period at the earliest and we can organize more such events on a larger level.’

Fun to eat with live music

Members participated in this kite festival with great enthusiasm. On this occasion, different music was also enjoyed along with kite flying to the tunes of live music. Seeing this enthusiasm of all, even the residents of Shalimar Fortaleza could not stop themselves and they too got excited by flying kites fiercely and doubled their happiness. On this occasion Mr. Bende – Retired MD in transmission department, MPEB, Mr. Rawat – Retired Dy. GM, NTPC, Mr. Kailash Shrivastava – Ex. Vice Chancellor, Symbiosis, Indore , Atul Khera – Retired IFS, Mr. Rahul Raizada – Finance Head, Dr. Seth – Dean , Chirayu hospital, Mr. Bhaskar Rao – Technical Director, NIC,Dr. Rohit Shrivastava – Dentist, and C. M. Shrivastava – Retired banker were also present.
