Bollywood actors Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Vikram Vedha’ is a Hindi remake of South’s film of the same name. The audience was waiting for a long time to see Bollywood’s handsome hunk Hrithik Roshan return to the big screen with this film. In such a situation, now the initial figures of the first day’s earnings of this much awaited film have come out, which are less than expected. According to preliminary figures, ‘Vikram Vedha’ has collected a total of Rs 11.50 crores while earning an average on its opening day. Although, these figures may change for now, but still this collection is not promising according to the budget of the film. However, seeing the positive social media reactions received as soon as the film was released, it seemed that ‘Vikram Vedha’ would earn a lot at the ticket window on the first day. However, only time will tell what will happen to the film in the coming days.
This type of collection is not considered very good on the first day for the film ‘Vikram Vedha’ made in a huge budget of 190 crores. The film was released with great fanfare across India. This jugalbandi of Saif and Hrithik was released to the audience across 4007 screens, yet the Pushkar and Gayatri directorial failed to do well at the ticket windows. Looking at its collection, the decreasing interest of people towards the remake can also be considered. Actually, everyone has seen the same story in South’s film.
A major reason for the reduced collections is also believed to be its clash with Mani Ratnam’s film ‘PS1’ at the box office. Also, adapting the film to the inclusion of North, Pushkar and Gayatri have left many weak links in it, which seems to be overshadowed by the strong acting of a superstar like Hrithik as a villain for the first time. Significantly, ‘Vikram Vedha’ is a remake of South’s film of the same name, in which Vijay Sethupathi and R Madhavan were seen. Apart from Hrithik Roshan and Saif, Radhika Apte, Rohit Sharf, Sharib Hashma, Yogita Bihani are going to be seen in important roles in this film.
