Mumbai – Maharashtra Governor BS Koshyari and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray paid tributes to Dr. BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, on Sunday on the occasion of his 64th death anniversary at his memorial site ‘Chaityabhoomi’.
Ambedkar’s death anniversary is celebrated as ‘Mahaparinirvan Diwas’. The Governor and Chief Minister paid tribute to Ambedkar at the memorial located at Shivaji Park in Dadar area.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and State Energy Minister Nitin Raut were also present on the occasion.
NCP chief Sharad Pawar also paid tribute to Ambedkar at his memorial.
He later praised Ambedkar in a tweet, saying that the constitution maker gave constitutional values to the country.
Thackeray had last month appealed to the people not to submit to ‘Chaityabhoomi’ on the occasion of Ambedkar’s death anniversary and said that he should pay tribute to Ambedkar from wherever he is.
